AF1002 Group 3 Times & Nonsense.
Sunday, May 23, 2010

At 45, Singapore is still considered young amongst all the other developed countries. Our government has done a tremendous job in putting Singapore on the global map. They have not only maintain the security and defence of the nation but have also improve the economy in encouraging foreign talents to work, settle and establish their companies as well as provide us with a wide variety of job opportunities in various industries from R&D, engineering, telecommunication, biomedical etc.

We have come a long way from being a rural kampong to developing to a vibrant city. We have achieved world class transportation in air, land and sea as well as in the financing, health, tourism sectors amongst other industries. In order to boost tourism, we have many world class hotels, shopping centres, tourist attractions, cuisine and shopping. The construction of the 2 Integrated Resort in Sentosa and Marina Bay respectively gives testament to the growing vibrancy, offering luxury accommodation, shopping, dining, world class entertainment, convention & exhibition.

There are also sufficient educational institutions where we, regardless of age, can continue to learn and upgrade ourselves so that we can be at the forefront of knowledge and innovation. Retirees are also strongly encouraged to upgrade themselves to re-enter the workforce, thereby contributing to the growing economies of the nation. Although, we strive to better ourselves economically, we also seek to improve our social lifestyle.

In order to maintain our “Forever Young”, we have to be diligent in maintaining our stability and competitiveness. We will need to bring foreign talents with useful skills and expertise to add to our population and talent pool. And also encourage our lost talent to return to their homeland. Also, with the current government leadership I am confident that we will continue to be “Forever Young”.
