The Cyber Wellness Initiative is a good plan to reach out and educate the world’s Internet users. While some parents and children do not fully understand the capabilities of the Internet, many senior citizens and disabled do not accept using the Internet, even with its availability. Educating these people would encourage the use of the Internet, to bring cultural and generational diversity to the Internet population. Cyber wellness essentially refers to the “positive well-being of Internet users and a healthy cyber culture for the Internet community.” However, to what extent does a healthy cyber culture stretch to? The four core values of the Cyber Wellness vision are “balanced lifestyle”, “Embracing the Net and Inspiring Others”, “Astuteness” as well as “Respect and Responsibility”. However, it extends only up to an individual and how he views each. A healthy cyber culture can range from one that adds a censor to any content unsuitable for ages 13-under, to one that is free from any censorship and leaves it to the person to determine what content he should view and what he shouldn’t. Therefore in my opinion, cyber wellness should be defined by the users, and only those with multiplayer-interaction features should maintain or reinforce Cyber Wellness rules.
