What is cyber wellness? To us, teenagers, cyber wellness is so long as we don't abuse the internet for what we do, it is cyber wellness. However, cyber wellness is a pretty broad topic to discuss. If teenagers thinks the way they're thinking now, then a little clarification have to be made - what is their definition for "not abusing the internet"? It is a fact that "Close to nine in ten teens are internet users.", why is this so? Broadband service has improved since few years back then, and its rates are in fact, getting more and more affordable, this is why people are able to afford paying for the service. Internet has become a part of our daily life, businessmen checks their mails on their blackberry every few hours and students do researches online. This is because internet allows easier communication between far distances, and it contains information that students might need. We might not like the truth, but it is an obvious fact that, internet has indeed became essential in our daily life. As technololgy advances, its no wonder that internet users have risen. From the report, "87% of U.S. teens aged 12-17 use the internet, up from 73% in 2000. 66% of adults use the internet, up from 56% in 2000.", not only have the percentage of teenagers increases, the percentage of adults using the internet has significantly increased too. We have to admit that as much as parents do not know what are their children doing online, they either have absolute trust in their kids, or they do not bother about them. Well, let us all believe that parents have absolute trust in their kids. I believe that technology is one main reason why internet users have increased over the years. Look at the phones around, its all wifi-enabled. Apple Iphones and blackberry are the best examples of wifi-enabled phones, in fact, these phones even allows internet surfing with data plan. With wifi anywhere, teenagers can use their phones to surf the web, go online. Another reason would be the control over illegal downloading of songs, information and photos online, which I personally feel that is too leniant and therefore, it doesn't instill a fear in teenagers that they may get caught for downloading things online. - MELISSA
